Hi!
I’m Laura, a pianist and teacher. A California native, I graduated from USC’s Thornton School of Music with degrees in piano performance and nonprofit and philanthropic policy. I completed my Masters in piano performance at Stony Brook University, studying under Gilbert Kalish and Christina Dahl. It was here I formed a contemporary duo, Double Standard, with violinist Jennifer Gersten. This year I earned my doctorate from S.B.U. and am looking forward to new performance and teaching opportunities.
Double Standard:
a contemporary violin/piano duo. we perform and commission new works. our repertoire leans heavily towards works written female composers, yet we can also play the hits (beethoven, brahms)!
